Shortboards to surfers are the bottom line of many years of surfboard technology! "Shortboards" were invented because people wanted to push the limits of surfing past the heavier, less responsive, more stable "Longboards". Longer boards Outglide shorter boards. Therefore, the Twinfin and then Thrusterdesign came into effect by making a shorter board have many characteristics of a longer board but with more response/options and still all the same SPEED !Remember,longer boards have longer and smoother glide than a shorter board.If you like that feel ,then move up in length.All surfboards are usfull{ except a golden few} to enjoy riding a wave with, and they all have their part in surfing and surfing history.
